Party cancelled

I'm starting to think my book parties are cursed.

Hello frenz,

Thanks to the Akawa Butte Fire that started earlier this week (now at 26,000 acres and only 3% contained) we’re canceling the launch party scheduled for tomorrow! 😟

I got emails from several of you who couldn’t come because you live thousands of miles away... it’s a good thing you didn’t buy airline tickets! Hopefully those closer who planned to attend will see this message.

As you can see from the screen cap above, the fire is way too close to the tiny town of Sisters. (The town is so small the word extends beyond the city limits on that map.) What's not so obvious is the firefighters have to come up that highway below the arrow on the right to get to the fire, so encouraging people to be on the roads is irresponsible. And our current air quality is 170.

After two launch parties being smoked out (we went ahead with the book 1 party last August because the fire started only the night before) from now on I will only schedule parties in the winter!
